June Vacation
Hopefully posting more pics soon, but wanted to let everyone know I will be out of town June 1-10. I will be in Orlando for a the Premiere Hair Show (think Beauty Convention), to learn about all of the new professional techniques and products available to you, my wonderful clients! Please be aware as this will make June scheduling a bit tight and you may want to schedule a little earlier than usual to make sure you get the time you want!

Diversion
I thought I'd post some things about Diversion, which is a huge problem in the industry right now. I want everyone to be as informed as possible about this issue.
Diversion is when professional salon products are sold to consumers anywhere other than professional salons or distributors. Anyone who knows me knows I like a deal, but I'm concerned for my clients because as the problem has grown the past few years, there's a lot more counterfeit product out there, and some of the so-called "discount" stores are actually selling these products for MORE than they retail at in salons!
I have posted a link to David Craggs' blog on the subject. He is the President of the Professional Products Division of L'Oreal. A lot of people don't realize that Major Professional brands such as Kerastase, Pureology, and Redken are actually now owned and run by L'Oreal, as well as their other branches you may be familiar with. I also posted a video of an investigation into Diversion done by a reporter from Kansas City. It's at the bottom of the blog.
At Lolabelle, I carry Paul Mitchell and Pureology products. I thought long and hard about which product lines I wanted to carry, and Diversion played a big part in my decision. I don't see these products diverted nearly as often as others. Other factors were that I wanted, of course, products that I believe in and am fairly familiar with. Also, I wanted to carry a line that is very affordable, as well as a really good quality luxury line. Paul Mitchell has been around for quite some time now. They have a very complete line and have covered every type of hair. PM is also consistently affordable compared to other professional lines. Pureology is a state-of-the-art product line that focuses on care and style for chemically treated hair. They also cover all hair types and situations. I am proud to carry both of these brands, while still keeping informed on others.
